hristian was diagnosed in January 2007 with Burkitt’s Lymphoma, a non-Hodgkins Lymphoma that starts in and affects the lymphatic system of the body.
In order to be with Christian, his father had to quit his job, leaving his wife and three children without an income. Knowing that being there for Christian was essential, but without an income, they had to move their family – a total of five people - into Christian’s grandparents home.
It appeared to be a solution, however shortly after they moved they realized that their new arrangement was hurting Christian’s immune system, due to the increased number of people in the home, and the mother had to rent an apartment away from the family to keep Christian isolated and safe.
The Banuelos family applied to Miracles for Kids to assist them with rent for the new apartment, in order to protect their son from the outside. We were able to provide them with the assistance they needed, allowing them to get through another month keeping Christian safe and secure.
