Charity’s a Breeze
Sea Breeze Financial Services Inc., a diversified real estate lending firm headquartered in Irvine, has pledged $100,000 to the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation.

The donation, pledged through the firm’s Miracles for Kids foundation, will help the Orange County-based nonprofit organization fund medical research at various facilities throughout the nation that are seeking a cure for childhood cancer.

The firm’s 150 employees contribute through automatic deductions in their paychecks or monthly commission checks with the firm matching 25 percent of each donation.

The Miracles for Kids program is in its fifth year and has raised more than $250,000.

“We believe that announcing this aggressive pledge is a challenge to our employees, our customers and the community-at-large to stay involved in the fight against children’s cancer,” said Curtis Green, co-owner of Sea Breeze.

Green and partner Len Hamilton are encouraging other real estate financing companies to join their firm’s foundation to fight childhood cancer.

“These monies will play an important part in funding our programs for advanced research at laboratories and hospitals across the county,” said Nancy Franks, executive director of the research foundation, which has raised more than $14 million to fund cutting-edge research.
