Board Chair Curtis Green Helps Raise Money for Orange County Charities

Miracles for Kids Board Chair Curtis Green assisted friends Charlie & Brandi Hawkins in putting together a live and silent auction as part of the couples’ annual holiday party, which took place at hush restaurant in Laguna Beach on Saturday, December 10, 2005. The proceeds of the auction benefited two Orange County charities: Habitat for Humanity of Orange County's Operation Home Delivery, and Music for a Cure.

The holiday party featured live acoustic music by recording artist Sugar Ray, ice sculptures supplied by Ketel One, and food and beverages by hush restaurant. The event included both live and silent auctions, and raised over $50,000 to be shared by the two charities.

When asked about the success of the event, Curtis Green stated."I was honored to be a part of such a successful evening and am thrilled at the outcome. $50,000 is an unbelievable number. I am always amazed at what our community can do when people come together for a cause.”

Music for a Cure will use their portion of the donations to enter into additional music programs with children's hospitals in Orange County.

Habitat for Humanity's portion of the donations will be used to build homes for qualified families who have been impacted by the recent hurricanes in the Gulf Coast region.
