Western Roundup 2010 Recap

IRVINE, CA (June 6, 2010) - Miracles for Kids and National Charity League Newport Beach joined the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation in hosting its 19th Annual Western Roundup Picnic. The event, held at Hidden Valley in Irvine, was attended by over 600 people, including 85+ critically ill children and their families, and several hundred donors and supporters of the three organizations. Attendance at the event was free.

Miracles for Kids joined the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation four years ago to help offer a safe, fun environment for oncology children and their families to sit back, relax and kick of their heels for a rootin’ tootin’ good time at no extra cost to them during a very trying time in their lives. This event also creates an opportunity for Miracles for Kids’ grant recipients to enjoy a care free day of fun and soak up the many normal facets of childhood they don’t get to experience every day.

This year, families were able to participate in activities ranging from bouncy houses, pony rides, petting zoo, carnival rides and games, arts and crafts, face painting, old-time photos, boat rides, raffles and more. Attendees were also given the opportunity to participate in a dove release ceremony in memory of or in honor of a child.

Miracles for Kids is grateful for the support of the many volunteers and donors that made this year’s event possible. They include US Trust Bank of America Private Wealth Management, In n’ Out Burger, Shulman, Hodges & Bastian, The Girl Scouts of Orange County, Red Rock Security & Cabling Inc., among many others.

The 20th annual Western Roundup will be held June 5, 2011. More details on next year’s event will be available in January 2011.

About Miracles for Kids
